Vodacom, Extremely bad service and business ethics
Problem with the incorrect allocation of data usage. Regular data is used instead of Whatsapp data or special ticket data. The problem started in December of 2019, Every time I contact Vodacom It seems that there is a different reason why this happens according to the consultants at the call center or help desk. I had the problem this weekend again. Regular data was used instead of Whatsapp ticket data. Phoning them on Saturday, I was told that I must switch of my phone and the problem will be fixed after 10 minutes (supervisor must reset something), I was told that they will phone me back to at 15h00 to confirm that problem is fixed, no mention was made that I will be refunded for the regular data that was used). Needless to say, the problem was and is not fixed and no phonecall. Phoned on Sunday again. This time I was told that the data is used in accordance with the expiry date of the data, irrespective of what type of data it is, this meant that normal data will be used instead of Whatsapp ticket data if the normal data's expiry date is first, which by the way was not so in my case. I asked for a manager to phone me. I was assured that a manager would phone me on Monday after 14h00. I did not receive a phone call up to date. On a previous occasion with the same type of problem, I was told that the special data that I purchased was only for selected movie sites (which by the way is NOT mentioned when you buy the data). I explained that it is not mentioned on the Vodacom App where I bought it and would like a refund, I was told that it cannot be done, this although not one meg of that data was used only my normal data. On another occasion, I was told not to purchase special data for at least 7 days, this although they kept on offering the data on their Vodacom App site (how do you do this if you know that you have a problem?). I am horrified at this situation, the service, and the attitude of Vodacom, especially as they are one of the few companies that are able to continue with their business and make a profit during this time of lockdown. It is Tuesday 19/5/2020 and my Whatsapp situation is still the same, I must load normal data to be able to access my Whatsapp messages, although I still have 589.89 MB of data available that expires today.
