Vodacom Extending My 36-Month Contract to 42 Months & Still Attempting Deductions
Title: Vodacom Extending My 36-Month Contract to 42 Months & Still Attempting Deductions
Complaint: I signed a 36-month Vodacom contract in July 2021, which should have ended in July 2024. However, Vodacom is still trying to deduct money from my account, claiming my contract only ends in December 2024. This effectively makes a 36-month contract last 42 months, which is unacceptable and feels like a deliberate attempt to overcharge.
I even went into a Vodacom store to settle the matter and paid for June and July to close off the account. Despite this, Vodacom continues to attempt deductions. I also contacted Finance, and they assured me that the “Back Office” would reach out to resolve the issue, but to date, no one has contacted me.
I am requesting:
That my contract end date be corrected to July 2024, as per the agreement I signed.
That any incorrect debit attempts after July 2024 be reversed immediately.
That my number be migrated to Pay-As-You-Go as requested.
It is unreasonable and ********* for Vodacom to expect customers to continue paying months beyond the agreed contract period.
Desired outcome: Correct contract closure, refund/reversal of invalid debit attempts, and migration to Pay-As-You-Go.
