VODACOM EXPLOITS VULNERABLE CUSTOMERS: BROKEN 6-MONTH ARRANGEMENT AND ******** BILLING!

Vodacom South Africa’s business practices are predatory, and their customer service agents are completely incapable of honoring basic agreements. When I unfortunately lost my job, I did the responsible thing and proactively informed them of my employment status. We explicitly agreed on a 6-month payment arrangement where my account (Account number: ***5-2) would be migrated to prepaid so I wouldn't incur additional charges while paying off the outstanding balance. Instead of honoring this agreement, the numerous agents assigned to my case did absolutely nothing. The only action they eventually took was stopping the ongoing, unauthorized debit orders they were ********ly running on my account. Despite my prior communication and their empty promises, I am now sitting with a newly generated statement, specifically sta-I***.PDF. This document, dated 03/09/2026, proves they completely ignored the arrangement. They bypassed the agreement and billed me an additional R2,060.01 on Invoice H0-1XVKNT, pushing my total amount due to a staggering R12,014.65! How can a telecommunications giant violate South African consumer rights so blatantly, especially when a customer is in a financially vulnerable state and has communicated in good faith? Because of their complete failure to resolve my complaints, I am now forced to escalate this matter legally. I am currently preparing my nfo-application-form.pdf to lodge a formal dispute, as the National Financial Ombud Scheme assists consumers when service providers refuse to settle matters fairly. Vodacom operates with zero integrity—do not trust their agents or their verbal agreements!

Reviewer Update
UPDATE: 10+ DAYS OF SILENCE, BOT RESPONSES, AND THREATS TO MY CREDIT SCORE! Vodacom’s automated "copy-paste" reply on 10 September 2026 was nothing more than a PR stalling tactic designed to look responsive to the public. It has now been well over a week since they claimed a consultant would contact me "in due course." Predictably, nobody has reached out. Not a single phone call, not an email, not an explanation. While Vodacom hides behind canned responses and bureaucratic incompetence, their ******** billing practices pose an immediate, active threat to my financial standing and credit profile. Let me be unequivocally clear: 1. Reckless and ******** Billing: You failed to migrate my line to prepaid as agreed under our 6-month payment arrangement, slapped an additional R2,060.01 onto invoice H0-1XVKNT, and inflated an illegitimate balance to R12,014.65. Every single cent added after our agreement was broken is disputed and **********. 2. Impending Credit Bureau Sabotage: You are knowingly sitting on a disputed, fabricated debt while automated billing cycles push my account toward collection departments and credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian, XDS). Damaging a consumer’s credit record over fees accumulated solely through your operational failure and breach of agreement is a direct violation of the National Credit Act (NCA) and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). 3. Bad Faith Conduct: When a consumer acts responsibly, negotiates in good faith, and confirms terms, Vodacom reneges, ignores complaints, and leaves the customer to face the fallout of negative credit bureau listings. MY DEMANDS ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE AND REQUIRE IMMEDIATE WRITTEN CONFIRMATION: • Zero Adverse Listings: Immediate written guarantee that this account (***5-2) is marked in formal dispute and that no adverse reporting, default listings, or debt handovers will occur. • Credit Bureau Clearance: If any negative information or default has already been submitted to credit bureaus, Vodacom must immediately issue an instruction to have it expunged and provide proof thereof. • Account Correction: Reversal of the disputed R2,060.01, immediate cessation of all ongoing contract billing, conversion of the line to prepaid as contracted, and a revised statement reflecting only the legitimately agreed arrangement balance. Do not respond here with another generic template asking me to "wait." I want a senior disputes manager to contact me immediately with a resolution, not a PR brush-off. My formal complaint to the National Consumer Commission (NCC) and relevant regulatory bodies is proceeding. Resolve this mess before your gross negligence results in formal legal liability for damages to my credit profile!
