Vodacom Exploiting Loopholes of ICASA Regulations
ICASA’s End-User Service and Subscriber Charter regulations came into effect on 1 March 2019, requiring mobile operators to implement an option to block out-of-bundle data usage. My Vodacom’s out-of-bundle data usage blocking was enabled by default and I never changed it via USSD but my R200+ airtime was utilised through out-of-bundle. I never consented to disabling out-of-bundle limit lock and until today when I called the call centre, never knew it could be manually adjusted for voice, SMS or mobile data. This devious practice is circumventing the law and is in bad faith. So disappointed in Vodacom after all the years of loyalty and shall consider moving my services elsewhere.
