Vodacom Exploiting Customers

My Vodacom contracts were handed over to T.J. Maodi Inc. They contacted me early on 15 January 2019 to inform me about this and wanted to make a payment arrangement. I've requested a statement (since I have not received any from Vodacom for a couple of months) and said they've requested a detailed one from Vodacom and will provide when they get it. In the meantime, I made an arrangement to Pay R1000 per month toward the outstanding balance which per my credit report of 14 Jan was R3162.05. I made a payment- R1000 on 28 Jan 2019 and send POP 29 Jan, still requesting an updated statement. The agent informed that it will take 2-4 days for Vodacom to update on the system and that I will get the UPDATED statement then. On 8 Feb, Vodacom provided me with an email indicating invoice and statements, but there was no statement attached, just invoices. I requested the statement from the debt collector and finally got one on 12 Feb with a date 18/01/2019. The total outstanding balance on that statement was R5099.54. I had a couple of queries relating to the following: The account stopped 06/07/2018 with added 0 to a total outstanding balance of R3162.05 and continued like that for 6 months until December. On 01/01/2019 costs was added again that escalated the total outstanding balance to R5099.54? The agent's answer was that the contract was canceled by Vodacom on 01/01/2019. I requested correspondence but did not get any. I contacted the agent yesterday to make a settlement arrangement on the R3162.05 minus the R1000 paid on 28 Jan 2019. They came back to say that the total outstanding balance is now R 7 442.77. I enquired a statement that justifies the outrages amount and was provided with the old statement of 18/01/2019that I've indicated it is outdated and does not take into account the R1000 that I've already paid. With the statement was a subscriber list that shows contract term dates for April and May this year and those contracts expired last year already? These subscriptions are charged BOC amounts. I have submitted queries and does not receive feedback. I've contacted Vodacom via social media and was provided a number to be referred back to the debt collector. At this stage, the debt collector agent is not of any help and do not come back if I have queries. I want to know why the balance on my account keep escalating with enormous amounts, while the contract has been canceled. Why can't I get up to date statements, that reflects the total outstanding amounts as indicated to date? Why contract terms have been extended for contracts that have already expired and canceled by vodacom? Basically, the agent rejected my request for settlement. Vodacom needs to provide feedback on the issue raised and they are hiding behind the *********** debt collection agency. My credit report has been updated with a total outstanding amount of R6900, from R3162.05 and now R 7 442.77 within a matter of a month. Vodacom did not update my payment made in Jan? Vodacom needs to seriously look into my account and provide feedback directly.

Hi Vodacom, Thank you for making contact, but unfortunately, the matter has not been resolved. It is interesting that I could not get a direct number for the legal department. I was informed that the legal department has indicated that I should go with the statement that T.J. Maodi Inc has provided, but that is an outdated statement of 18/01/2019 and does not correlate with the total outstanding amount as indicated. I am smelling a rat here and is seriously questioning the companies legitimacy and competence. What is more concerning is that Vodacom is hiding behind them, and refused to withdraw my account from them, in order to settle with Vodacom directly? My further request is that someone from the accounts department provides in writing explanations of all further costs that were added to my account in support and reference to the terms of the contract, that will justify the actions. This includes the justification of the R 7 442.77 that I am expected to pay. Surely I am allowed to have a breakdown for what I am expected to pay for?
