Vodacom eSim Poor Service

Since buying my Apple Watch Series 5 yesterday morning, i have spent the greater part of the past two days trying to find an agent who knows what an eSim is or can assist get this activated. Some agents ask me to hold and then drop the call and put me through to the customer satisfaction survey. Others log a technical call and sms me a reference number. I have gone through the QR code and activation process but still the set up via the phone to activate data services stops when i get an error that my line is not active for the service. Having read previous reviews from equally frustrated clients and been to the iStore twice to also be told Vodacom is having problems activating this service, i think its a ******* to be selling an offering (product and service) under the false pretense that its functional.

Thanks for your response. So i have just received a call from *** and been asked to hold for 23 minutes. After that i was told i will get another reference number and another call as the agent cannot assist me unless i go back to a Vodashop that also could not help and held on for longer than me for technical support until they gave up. If this is what customer service has been reduced to, then goodbye to another client of 15 years. MTN is by far more jacked up in service.

After 3 days battling with this and hours on the phone between Apple and Vodacom Call Centre, i have been told Vodacom does not Support Cellular services on the Apple Watch Series 5. Apple tells me they will charge me a 20% handling fee to return my watch. Advice to anyone considering Apple Series 5 for South Africa, is DO NOT BUY as the cellular is not supported despite all the marketing talk.
