Vodacom employs *****

Below is a review I published last week. It took Vodacom 3 days to get back to me regarding my review. A woman by the name of Zama Gumede called me to resolve the issue, she advised that she will be waiving the installation fee and router fee because my requested cancellation was due to Vodacom's lack of service. She also advised me that there is no waiting period for a transfer because if the place is fibre ready, you just need to plug your router in. Based solely on her advice, we agreed that I'd cancel my cancellation request and keep my Vodacom fibre. However, should I have problems with connectivity again and need to cancel, I would reinitiate the cancellation by the end of May. She also advised that should I still want to cancel by end May, all I would need to do to have the extra fees waived is provide Vodacom with proof of my new address. I did ask her to confirm that I am connected to my own fibre instead of the previous tenant's connection and she advised that she can see that I am connected to my own fibre line and not using someone else's. I then received notification that the cancellation request has been cancelled and the ticket will be closed.

Fast forward to yesterday, my WiFi goes out and I call Vodacom. I speak to Camilla or Pamela and she tells me that Zama **** to me about just plugging in my router. It turns out that I have been using the previous person's fibre connection and my connection got cut off because they transferred their line and now I can no longer use mine, so mine is still active in my old residence. I requested that I speak to Zama and I was told that they don't have a direct line, but will request that my call with Zama be pulled and listened to. I also requested that my fibre line be cancelled at the end of this month, I will not be waiting 1 calendar month and I will not be liable for installation and router fees. I told her that I will be cancelling my Vodacom debit order, so you will not get another cent out of me. Camilla said she has put that all in writing to her manager and sent me a reference number. She did say that cancellation would only be final at the end of June and I told her that Vodacom has my permission to debit me my normal debit at the end of May, but at the end of June it will be Zama's and Vodacom's problem as I will be cancelling the debit order.

Now I get an email that says cancellation needs 1 calendar month and I'm now liable for over R2000 in installation and router fees!!! What kind of sick game is Vodacom playing??? How do I complain, then get a consultant calling me with lies to get me out of cancelling. Then I'm stuck with no internet that I still have to pay for at the end of the month???? This is absolute abuse of a paying customer. Now because I was **** to by Zama, I have no internet to actually make a living so that Vodacom can ***** my money via debit order at the end of the month. Why does dealing with Vodacom always have to end in trauma???

If I had known that I was going to have to deal with this *******, I would never have cancelled my cancellation request. In fact, I would never have even signed up with Vodacom in the first place. Zama is a **** that is causing high blood pressure in your clients. She better be dealt with immediately because I will not be responsible for your staff's tactics on retaining contracts.

Vodacom is running a fibre ****!!! They get you into a contract without telling you that it's a contract.

We moved residence and decided that we'd rather give fibre a try. Vodacom happened to be the only ISP for this area. Since I unfortunately already have a contract with them, we settled on it. We enquired and were told by Lydell Chetty that installation is free and it's not a contract, it is on a month to month basis. Also that when we move again, we'd only pay a reactivation fee, if where we move to already has a fibre connection. We then decided on a speed that we could afford, and signed up for month to month fibre, with 25mbps at R649 per month. Installation happened pretty quickly and was activated 24 hours after installation. After it was activated, the chosen speed only lasted a day. Thereafter it was constant calling and complaining about low speeds and no connection at all sometimes. Several faults were logged and a technician was sent out. He confirmed that our WiFi isn't working the way it should, he did what he did and our connection worked well enough for about a week.

We endured the nonsense connection for a while as we were set to move again, and decided that we'd cancel Vodacom and move to another ISP thereafter, even though we use the WiFi to work from home. I called Vodacom and was told that I'd need to call closer to my moving date so that cancellation could be logged for May 1st. I called again on April 28th and requested a cancellation and was told that it takes 30 days to cancel. I then asked about moving my WiFi to my new residence since I'd still have to pay for it at the end of May, and I was told that too takes 30 days (something I was never told before). So here I am with WiFi that I'd have to pay for but won't get to use for the last month. I accepted this as my loss and ended the call.

About a day after the call, I realized that Vodacom hadn't sent me a notice of cancellation or a reference number for that call. Today I call Vodacom back to confirm that my cancellation request has been activated and I'm told that because I'm cancelling, I will get a quote for the router and the "free" installation at my previous residence. Obviously I am shocked and I ask why all the costs and what am I to do with a router I will not need. I'm then told that it's because I cancelled before 12 months. WHAT???????????? I thought that this is a month to month agreement AND I was NOT told ANY of this EVER before!!!!

You have taken it upon yourself to increase my first contract amount without informing me or getting my consent for a laptop that broke before I even got 6 months into the contract and you refused to fix it. Now I'm saddled with a "quote" that you will decide is enough to charge me for **** I don't even want or need to keep and for an installation you said is free!!!!

Where TF does Vodacom draw the line on lying and scheming????? Is thievery the only way you get to actually make any money???? I am only cancelling because YOU are failing to deliver a service that YOU faithfully debit me for. Now when I cancel because I'm tired of paying for something I'm not getting, I'M getting penalised???!!! How the hell do you justify this????

We will go all the way to court if we have to, but you will NOT ***** from me anymore than you already have. FIX THIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will not be signing or agreeing to anything!!! Zama and Vodacom need to sort this out! Why wait for me??? Why not speak to Zama and listen to our call???! Stop trying to pin costs on me!! Zama needs to get a staff error or something, but I will not agree to being charged those extra fees you so conveniently didn't mention at sales stage and then waived and now reinstated. This review was published 6 days ago, not a single soul has even attempted to contact me regarding this and you have the nerve to respond here telling me that you're waiting for a response from me???!!! Vodacom clearly wants a legal battle on their hands. Your next message to me better be that the call between Zama and myself was listened to and she'll be held accountable for her lies!!! Your service is pathetic at best!
