Vodacom employee advantage is a disadvantage

Vodacom offers an employee advantage to companies. Consultants came to our offices, I made use of this service only to receive the worst service I have ever had . It's taken over a month of going backwards and forwards to be told that they can't help me, the prices were higher than online, the service was terrible, there was no employee advantage here.

I’ve tried to keep what happened to the point:

Vodacom came to our offices for the employee advantage.

I spoke to the consultant on 08/06/2016 and advised her that my upgrade is on the 17th of July, is there a possibility I could upgrade earlier.

I gave her my email address and the phone + watch I was looking for, she said she would get back to me and let me know.

She then mailed me back with the price of the phone + watch.

I saw that it was R150 more than what Vodacom was offering/advertising online. No employee advantage there so i questioned it.

Nonhlanhla then took over.

After over a week of going backwards and forwards with her, she eventually matched the deal for me.

I said that’s great for matching the deal but there is still no employee benefit. If I had just ordered the phone online then the process would have been easier and faster.

Every time there was a question it had to go back and forth to head office for approval.

They decided to give me 250 extra free minutes per month.

Then when everything was agreed to and they tried to process my upgrade Nonhlanhla came back and said sorry I can’t upgrade yet.

This started on the 08/06/2016 and the last email I got was on 17/06/2016.

It’s very frustrating as I wasted a lot of my time going backwards and forwards with the consultant, they lead me to believe that I could upgrade.

3 weeks passed and on Monday 11/07/2016 I saw that my upgrade had become available online so I contacted Nonhlanhla to ask if we can do the upgrade.

It’s taken another week of going backwards and forwards and more of my time and more frustration.

Apparently, the deal is no longer online and they can’t match it, it's expired, but she advised me to call Vodacom online as they still have some units left and i get the deal from them telephonically.

I then told her that this is not right as I’ve really been given the runaround.

She said that she would see what she could do as she understands and that head office would call me. I’m still waiting for their call.

I was concerned that I would miss out on the deal so I contacted Vodacom online and did my deal through them, it took 5 min and it was stress-free.

I actually can't believe that one department can be so different from another. You would expect prices to be the same, you would expect the service to be better as it's an employee advantage, I learnt that i will never deal with employee advantage people again and I will be sure to tell all my colleagues not to either, I will be sure to tell them of the employee disadvantage I had.

I have been a Vodacom client for years, I have two contracts with you. You clearly don't care about your clients.

Very disappointing.
