Vodacom Email & Wireless Internet Mobile Connective Disconnectivity
Using Vodacom when out of office (Telkom primary ISP) for internet connectivity and email. The problems: 1. USB ****le drops the connection when Google Chrome, FireFox or Microsoft Edge web browsers are opened. 2. Using Microsoft Outlook 2013 - unable to send emails as of mid May 2021.
After many months and many, many ineffective Call Centre engagements I finally visited the Menlyn Vodacom Repair Shop in Pretoria. The technical consultant in attendance (Siphuma Tshivhidzo) deserves a meddle! He managed to resolve the email problem in that the Vodacom outgoing smtp.vodamail.co,za server username is a mobile number and password allocated by Vodacom. No one but no one at the Call Centre could provide this simple solution, one which Vodacom in it's wisdom implemented without as much as a word of communication to it's customers, appalling!
As for the internet browser ****le disconnect well, yet a solution from the Call Centre couldn't front was non-existent other than to go to a walk-in Vodacom shop, completely unacceptable! At the very least the Call Centre should be at a level to properly respond to these problems. At the shop it was affirmed that the ****le no longer works with the browsers in question and to do so would require a product upgrade i.e. the purchase of wireless router at an additional cost of R899.00 which I am not prepared to spend. The existing contract will therefore come to a close and not be renewed!
Finally, and here’s the kicker – I HAD TO PAY R150.00 for the “fix” at the Vodacom Repair Shop – a ‘fix” squarely due to Vodacom changes to both it’s hardware obsolescence and email management over which I as a customer had absolutely no control whatsoever! The entire experience has been very disappointing and quite honestly Vodacom in my books has slid from a 10-out-of-10 service provider to ZERO! Certainly will NOT recommend Vodacom with this type of service!
Thank you for the "Dear John" automated response. For the record as of 14 September no contact from Vodacom has been forthcoming.

Now 4th day after the complaint, still no response from Vodacom, disgusting! Their tagline "Further Together" certainly defines a very different reality to the experience.... :-(
