Vodacom Email Hacked - Vodacom does nothing about it

On June 28, 2017 at about 19:00pm I had received 4 SMS's. These were from MTN. The first read "Your request for port is pending" 2nd "Your request for port has been approved, 3rd MTN port currently in progress. I immediately called 111 from my vodacom handset and spoke to a consultant who told me that there was nothing that she could do except to create a cervice request for someone to contact me the next day. I had no other option.

The next morning (29th June) I received a call from vodacom, this time i was given the number of MTN port department and told that I should contact them directly and cancel the port. I did this and was told that the port would be cancelled.

On the 29th June 2017 at approx 19:00 my handset had no network, the phone had been ported to MTN. I called vodacom who said the same about logging a service request.. she also said that if anyone logs into my bank acc etc. its my problem.

On the 30th June 2017 I received a call from vodacom instructing me to call MTN and cancel the port. Whilst on the line with the MTN operator I was told that the port was done *****elently but he could not disclose any information.

On the 30th June, I had tried to login into my vodacom email (vodamail.co.za) and whenever i entered my password it gave me a message saying the the password was incorrect. MY mailbox password was changed by whoever had hacked and ported my phone. I contacted vodacom who are the administrators for the mailbox and even the call centre staff - absolutely pathetic - and cannot reset the password. when I had told the idiots what was happening, they didnt seem to care.

I had then requested that vodacom blacklist my handset and sim card until further notice - because they are so ***********. I was told that this was possible and will take 24 hours. I explained that is was an emergency to no avail. Today is the 07/07/2017 and my phone hasnt been blacklisted. I eventually received a text message indicating that vodacom had reset my email password.

When I log onto my vodamail email box, it was absolutely empty - approx 10 years worth of emails gone. Inbox 0, Outbox 0, Sent Items 0, Drafts 0. I called vodacom on 111 for the 20th time to ask wheres my emails and they say they cant assist - i should go to a store.

Vodacom absolutely pathetic. I will definitely look at destrying this sim card and moving to telkom in the near future. there no email privacy, anyone can port your number and log into your mail box. they are reluctant to investigate and assist you also. almost like speaking to a bunch of ****ing zombies.
