Vodacom EISSSSHHH non existent service...... again

Vodacom, I really do not know what to think. Just as I thought that Vodacom had pulled up their socks as far as being a service provider is concerned (as the last couple of interactions with them seemed to really go smoothly and last week I even gave a 5 star review, sadly not long lived) then those happy interactions were dashed and the whole Eskom vibe reared its neck, by that I mean an unscheduled increase but no increase in service. That is how it comes across and feels. On Sunday 22 January I spent over 3 hrs. on the phone with Vodacom upgrading and migrating packages. Amongst my upgrade, my one number I upgraded as follows ZTE R219Z LTE MIFI ROUTER (CAT 4) + Dell Inspiron 3511 i3 Carbon Black 8/256GB SSD @ R499 PM (R350 Finance + R149 Reduced Subs) on 5GB Data Price plan Top up (36 Months) This upgrade took almost 3 hrs. on its own to get it sorted. The operator, an Afrikaans lad, sadly I forget his name, really did his best in assisting me. There was an issue with his stock sheet. I agreed on a certain laptop package then only could he go in only for it to be out of stock or discontinued.( Main reason for us taking over 3 hrs.) He slogged on until he found a laptop deal that really made me happy. It was no easy task for him as I DO NOT want a Celeron as according to my IT person it is a problematic brand to be avoided at all cost. Finally he found the Dell Inspiron the only catch was that it was on back order, which I accepted. I received the quote and accepted it. Two weeks later I call in and follow up and am informed that it is still on back order and not to stress as, as soon as it arrives, I will receive the Ram tracking number and will know that it is on its way. No need to follow up. I however waited another approximately two weeks and the followed up again, only to be told the exact same thing, not to stress as soon as the stock has arrived I will receive the Ram tracking number and can follow the progress. LUCKILY, I called back again on Thursday 2 March. I called to clarify and sort another issue, the issue being that I received a text from Vodacom informing me of the price increase in June. They provided a link which every time I tried simply said error forbidden. This forced me to call the Vodacom 135 service. I spoke to an extremely friendly chap, Sizwe, he was patient and together we went through all 5 of my contracts and he assisted me in identifying which of them would be affected by the increase. A HUGE shoutout goes to Sizwe as he is a total asset to Vodacom, friendly and helpful. In conversation I asked if he could help with my backdated order. Sadly, it was for another department, being after sales. Sizwe held on to ensure that I was put through. After sales then informed that the order Quotation No: *** had been cancelled. I asked by whom as I never cancelled it. Again, I was told to hold on and they put me through to another department and from the onset it did not go well as the line was dropped and I had to call in again. This time I was told that the system had cancelled it as the product had become obsolete. I asked why I was not warned as every time I get told not to stress and I was simply told that it was the system, not accountability from anyone. Had I not called in to query the text message I would still be waiting, TAKEN FOR A FOOL. The operator was not too eager to assist either and did not hear my request of what I wanted. I asked to speak to a senior staff member as by now I was more frustrated than anything else and I was not happy with the service or rather no service I was receiving. I was told to hold……I would still be holding had the call not “dropped” I waited for a call back but to no avail to this day. I know that he could have called back as this happens with Vodacom rather more often than one would wish. So Vodacom….again you have dropped the ball. You at YOUR will increase our prices simply because the small print allows you to, and we the consumer just have to oblige whilst receiving mediocre service at times….this leads to a bad taste in one’s mouth. I would still be waiting for my Ram notification because Vodacom simply does not care and could not be bothered to give the service for what we pay. We are being taken….. So hopefully I will receive a call from a competent senior consultant who will make this mess go away. But before calling please ensure that you have found a replacement item so as not to waste anymore time,, that is NOT Celeron, being a minimum i3, minimum 8gb Ram, and SSD at least 2502gb, around the same package deal, including price wise that I am still waiting for and never materialized. I am not interested in paying more, I would like the same deal. Let’s see if Vodacom can redeem themselves and turn this complaint into a very positive compliment. PLEASE make it happen...

Well luckily I haver not been holding my breath. Your response above was on the 7th, six days ago and not a single peep from you. That is I assume your tactic. In true Vodacom for thinking that to Placate me with promises of calling me and looking into it and then nothing, hopefully I will go away. The same attitude the operator had when he dropped my call whilst holding on, Not a peep, no calling me back with promises of looking into it, nothing. Just a deafening quietness........true Vodacom form. What else am I to think, I would still be waiting for the call saying that my order is on its way............had I not called and followed up myself as the false promises that I need not be concerned and that as soon as Ram has my order I will be notified. Laugh out loud what a fool they take us for

This morning, 14 March I did receive a call from Vodacom, thank you. Within minutes my issue was sorted, well I wont be fully sure until my upgrade has been delivered. Now to wait and see how long this will take. I cannot understand why I had to go this route as the agent, Joseph who called me, managed to get my new upgrade processed literally within minutes of me answering the call from them. Why could the agent whom I initially dealt with and messed everything up so badly not have been as pro-active as Joseph ? I don't get it. Anyhow, thank you Joseph, I just hope that Vodacom now delivers as promised
