Vodacom drops the ball

I’m one of those customers who have been with Vodacom for over 15 years but their latest stunt in connection with my Fibre installation has really annoyed me to the point of losing my sense of humour and wishing them immense pain.

I’ve been a Fibre subscriber for over a year now. I recently moved apartments so I needed to complete a relocation form and they’re check if my new area has Fibre and if so, they’d action the relocation by sending a technician out.

I completed the form and contacted them to confirm they’d received it. I then asked what the next steps would be. I was told that my request would be assigned a specific contact person who would get in touch within 24 hours to arrange the next steps. With me being desperate for the connection to happen ASAP, I called every day and needless to say, the response stayed the same “someone assigned to your request will get in touch within 24 hours. At some point, they were getting in touch by COB. More than a week later, nobody has contacted me.

My irritation is the fact that come month end, I’ll be billed for a service I was 100% unable to use. I’ve already received an invoice to this effect. I then opted for cancellation. You won’t believe it, but that then led to Vodacom ignoring me completely.

How long does it take to even just respond to someone to acknowledge that you’re received their cancellation request and its being processed?

I’m actually tremendously annoyed. Wow.
