VODACOM double invoices me in one month, with strange costs still deducted from the extra bill
On the 30th of June my debit order comes off for my Vodacom fiber. This month however, I had insufficient funds. After the failed debit I was given 2 options. 1. pay into the account now or 2. to pay at the 6th of the following month. I chose option 2, however with Vodacom increased rates I did not account for (This was my fault as I was emailed in May to notify me of the increase). The debit order failed. I was then emailed an invoice that would cover the previous month and the current to be paid at the end of the month (fair). However, a week before the debit order was to happen. Vodacom cut my internet on Saturday, just after load shedding, so I assumed loads shedding was the cause. In the week when I contacted support a very helpful customer service person was very nice and helpful and informed me that my service was cut. (Firstly that’s not right, if Vodacom is billing me for 2 months, why rob me of a week of service that I will pay anyway (isn’t that ********?). So I sort the bill and pay all fees that she said needed to be paid and switched on my internet. Great However, Vodacom still deducts the amount from my account. So now I’ve effectively paid for last month, this month and the next 2 months. Only problem that was my rates money they took and have still not deposited (to date) back into my account. I complain to the customer service person (politely in an email, and she promises to sort it out. I get an email form Vodacom And they deduct from the money that they overdrew with this charge that came from where? What is going here? How did I end up paying 2 months in advance and end up with this. And it has still not been resolved, and the interest on my rates are going up everyday because they took my rates cash after I paid and have not deposited the money back, but have rather found a whole for it to be buried in. What must I do? Who must I go to? How do I get my money back and who is responsible for the debt I am incurring everyday? Because The municipality does not care about my problems and it seems Vodacom doesn’t care about their clients or their automated systems that seem disconnected from current events? Now RAIN, I have to praise here. For such a smaller company, if you ever missed your debit , you can pay through your device on their site with the cut line(so simple , so hassle free, and honestly the service was better). It’s a pity they don’t have Fiber cause I would have chosen them any day over my current options.
