Vodacom don't give a damn...
I am very disappointed to say the least. It has been a very difficult 2020, for so many of us, with accounts falling behind and trying to keep up with so many things and with a limited to no income. This being said I have always kept up with my obligations and promises made regarding payments. Vodacom being one of my accounts I have tried my utmost during a 12 month period to keep up however I fell 1 month behind. I have been pushing out this payment monthly and after this month finally being cut off, I called Vodacom to explain my situation and to see what options were available. After considering the very limited options I decided to take the option where my contracts are paused the converted to prepaid and then paying off all arrears over 3 months resuming the contract after month 3. This was the only viable option I could see in order to get rid of the arrears, and that I could afford the process was to take 48hours and my payment dates were captured. 2 days later my line is still off, and after calling Vodacom again I am now told it will take up to 7 days... I am dependent on my cell for various reasons and to be without a means of communication for 7 days will be detrimental. I have always been a loyal Vodacom customer with numerous lines and my account has always been up to date and paid as required. The pandemic has made it difficult for me being on temporary lay-off for almost a year. I would have thought Vodacom would be more considerate in this regard but I guess I am just another number and they really don't give a damn what suffering their customers endure, I tried my utmost to do the right thing even when it was extremely difficult but to Vodacom it's just about the money....
