Vodacom doesn't give me data or minutes, I pay for it!!

I would like to point out to Vodacom that the minutes and data they claim to give us, as consumers, is actually paid for by us. This means they are actually giving us what we are paying for, not giving it to us mahala. Therefore, the fact that there are limitations on these has become a very annoying matter for me.

I tried to migrate a Business contract with Vodacom recently and incidentally the consultant did not get the initial correspondence, therefore the migration could not be processed because it was not received on time for processing for the next month. It is funny how, when the consultant actually called me and spoke to me, processing was almost immediate. What annoyed me is that all the minutes I have not used is forfeited and I have paid for it. I tried to get it transferred to another Vodacom number that is also on contract, or carried over to the next month, but my request was declined. According to Vodacom, if "you migrate from a price plan which includes free or bundled minutes/seconds to any other price plan which includes free bundled minutes/seconds you may forfeit all or a portion of the accumulated minutes/seconds". The key word for me is may... This meant there was hope for me to at least keep some of my unused minutes. But I lost all of it... Where is the fairness in that? It's paid for already!! My R850 a month doesn't make a difference to Vodacom's bottom line, but it makes a big difference to me. To make matters worse, I had planned to use a lot of the unused 650 minutes on 31 July 2019 to make work related calls, but I was already migrated by then. I didn't receive any communication indicating the migration would be effective on 31 July and I was also not informed of this in the apparent quote and T & C's I should have received. There was no quote and no T & C's, yet the compliant I logged was closed. Instead, I received a SMS on the morning of 31 July at 7:57am saying the migration has been completed successfully. So not only was I billed for an additional month because of Vodacom's tardiness, but they also took away from me the minutes I pay for.

Another incident that happened recently is where I tried to transfer data from my number to my husband's and I was informed I could not transfer the data Vodacom "gave me". I had more than enough data and my husband didn't have enough... so it would only make sense to take my extra to give to him... But Vodacom doesn't encourage sharing like this... because we are not entitled to sharing what we have paid for ourselves. I want to reiterate, Vodacom does not give me data or minutes or airtime for free, it's not a gift or a donation, I pay for it with my hard earned money.

The only reason I stay with Vodacom is because of the good coverage. Otherwise, I hate dealing with Vodacom. I have never gone into a store or called into the call centre and been happy with the service received. The consultants are often unfriendly and not very helpful.

Standard business practice is to get a product and/or service you are paying for, it's the nature of trading... I think if Vodacom was really keen on serving their customers they would tweak their policies and systems so that consumers actually feel like they are getting value for money and not like they are being ****** blind.

Imagine buying bread and then the store collects the uneaten bread when it hasn't been eaten by a certain time, even though you paid for the full loaf?
