Vodacom doesn't care about their customers' security

Absolutely disgusted at Vodacom's lack of security and interest thereof. Yesterday at around 17:30 i received an sms saying Vodacom notes a request to port my number. Knew immediately it must be *****. I rep**** to the sms by pressing 1 to reject the port, and received an sms saying it has been cancelled. but then I received another sms saying Vodacom has ported {ref number}...and no option to press 1 to reject. Immediately I knew something was wrong as I definitely did not request such; so I called the porting call centre and it was confirmed that this is a ********** port to MTN. I was told by the agent I need to phone MTN myself to cancel the port, I asked why they cant immediately block it on Vodacoms side and they said they can do it but it takes 5 working days so it will be better to phone MTN. OK, so I phone MTN and am informed they close at 5. Again phone Vodacom to tell them this and they say theres nothing they can do immediately I must wait until the morning. At this point I am so nervous the port will be successful during the night and I'll wake up to my number gone. Luckily not, and I managed to get through to MTN this morning and the port was rejected. But my problem now is I called the port centre to flag my number (from the advice of the consultant I spoke to yesterday), they checked and said my number is unable to be flagged as I was previously on contract, and even though my number is prepaid now they haven't changed it on the system. Apparently you cant flag a contract number. I asked why and they said until they fix the problem there's nothing they can do. Asked how long this will be and am told by Anastasia the team leader they dont know, its already been a month, theres nothing they can do until then, no apology nothing. My number is compromised and there is a ********* out there trying to port my number and vodacom has absolutely no resolution???? Am disgusted at your lack of interest in your customers security. What if these people keep trying to take my number?? Why are there no security measures in place to protect your loyal customers?
