Vodacom does Sim swaps without my permission FFS!!!

My vodacom cell phone number was ported to MTN without my consent. I had data and airtime on my cell number. What is scary is that this happens a night before voting day. I contact Vodacom call centre and Ntombi (CA) tells me that this normally happens when sim cards are sold/handed out on the streets. How does someone port my number without a security check done by Vodacom? I now have to contact ********** from another cell phone, and they only open at 8am.Terrible vodacom...is it because I am on Pay As You Go?
