Vodacom does not want to keep my as a customer.
I sent this to Vodacom *** after being given the email by a customer care rep. I have not heard anything back.
Hi, I hope this finds you well.
Here is a brief summary of my attempt to upgrade. This is my last effort to contact Vodacom, because after this I only have the terrible world of Hello Peter and social media and 702 to go to.
I Upgraded online on the 7th of November.
Got my new phone on the 11th, however it was faulty and I had to arrange a return. (This was still the same day)
I was told the return would take 7 to 14 days. But that I would be contacted by the sales team once the phone was returned, to reapply for my upgrade. (This was after being directed a few times between after sales/upgrades and online. Could this have been linked? I mean upgrades really sound like they should be able to assist with upgrades. Also, why does it take that long to arrange a pickup?)
At this point it would have been quicker to simply cancel my contract, and reapply. However, when I tried to cancel, the call kept cutting, only once reaching the menu options for cancellation before cutting. (This was on the 13th).
I tried emailing customer care, to which I got an automated reply asking for info to confirm your identity. When I rep**** I got the same automated reply again.
My faulty phone was picked up on the afternoon of the 18th, with a 5 minute heads-up from Ram Hand to Hand. (Lucky someone was at home, not sure if I was supposed to wait at home for the full 7 - 14 day period, in case they decided to come pick it up at a moment's notice.)
Today I drove to Vodaworld. I was told that unfortunately, I would have to phone Vodacom Online, since the customer care assistant was not able to reach them. I phoned online, was told to speak to after sales, who again put me back through to online. The final operator told me that the device was no longer available. I had been checking up on the special and it was still available until quite recently, and might still have been available a week ago had sales phones me as promised. I insisted that this is the phone I would like, and while waiting for the operator who was checking something, the call cut, taking me to the call ratings system. (The ratings system has a few questions that repeat, so that might need to be looked at)
I would be happy to explain my experience in order for it to be improved, instead of complaining, but I have no idea who to speak to or who can help me anymore. I have spent a few hours on the phone, driven to Vodaworld and gone through all I can from my side to get a new phone, without feeling like I am being met even remotely half-way. At this point I really wonder if any of this is worth it. The idea I got from several operators and the kind assistant at Vodaworld was that Online is a black hole and no-one really knows what is going on there.
Kind regards,
Mehnert Engelbrecht
