Vodacom does not want new customers!

I had an MTN contract which is now ended. I wanted to move my number to Vodacom. I followed the instructions on their website and sent the relevant sms. Nothing happened! I then called Vodacom. The agent sounded very disinterested...frankly, she should find another job! I explained what I wanted to do and she said I have to contact MTN. MTN says I have to contact Vodacom!

Obviously both networks are making far too much money and are not interested in their customers....

Maybe moving from MTN to Vodacom will be a mistake?!?
