VODACOM DOES NOT KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS!!!!!!!!!!
I made an application for a new contract - a one day only deal which was for a Samsung A6 plus on a top up package. Received the phone and not even a week later it did not work. The phone prompted for a software update and did not want to switch on again.
Phoned Vodacom on the 22nd of August and they sent someone to collect the faulty phone on the Friday - not to bad up to this point. Phoned today on 27th August to check on the status of whatever it is they need to do.
By the way - I was already debited an amount for the contract.
Now I am told I need to cancel the contract and reapply to receive a new phone. The cancellation takes 7-10 days and they cannot guarantee that I will receive it for the same price.
Now my question is - WHY the **** do I need to cancel an active contract and reapply to receive a working phone? It does not make any sense!!!! Just send me a new phone, continue with the contract, and send the faulty phone back to your supplier!
By the way, I was told that I should make sure that I phone you for feedback, you will not provide me with feedback from your side. ***????
I am stuck with a ****ty, old, half broken phone while you are making me jump through hoops to receive a service you offered me (and I paid for). The faulty phone is obviously not Vodacom's fault BUT the absolutely ****ty, couldn't-care-less approach to customer service is something you need to sort out ASAP.
I have been a customer of Vodacom for many years and after this pathetic excuse for customer service I will definitely, as my contracts end (yes, I have more than one), rather switch to another provider.
Good day
