Vodacom does NOT care for customers, only for their pockets.

I am having the most shocking service from Vodacom. I agreed to a telephonic renewal of my contract in October 2022. It was not mentioned that the renewal was for a used iPhone 8. The box explicitly states "good as new" and 12 month warranty. Needless to say, the phone didn't work. I have not used the phone because it was never in working condition. As I was undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer in November, I was only able to take the phone in to my nearest branch "the Glen". I wanted them to cancel the phone but because I did not take the phone in immediately after getting the phone, they told me I could not cancel the phone. Instead they tried to tell me to sell the phone??? I told them that was totally *********??!!!! Then they spoke me into taking out another contract and they told me that they would send the phone in for repairs. I took the phone in in early December 2022. Then somewhere down the line the phone got misplaced. Finally they found the phone in February 2023. If it wasn't for me going in to the store and getting somebody to check up for me, I still would not know what was happening to my phone. Subsequently Vodacom, (Lauren Pillay from Eastgate repairs centre) tried to get me to pay for the repairs to the phone (R1223.08). I told her that the phone falls under a warranty and that I refuse to pay for the repairs. She is refusing to fix the phone and has sent the phone to HQ for them to decide what to do with the phone. In the mean time I am paying R474.98 on a contract that I get absolutely NO usage. I lose out on all account. Vodacome service is absolutely ********* and I am going to take my case to the consumer rights board. It is totally unfair practice.
