Vodacom does not care

In November/December 2023 a number was added to my Vodacom profile. This was done without my consent. I received a SMS saying that a quote was requested and approved, and very quickly a bill of R800 was added to my account. This number was obviously added *****ulently, as I assume someone was able to answer the security questions, unless it was done by someone within Vodacom. What followed was a very frustrating process trying to sort this out over the phone and in person while I was on holiday. Eventually in the middle of December this was sort of sorted. At least no extra debit order went off my bank account.

For some reason this extra number is now still under my name, and I can see it on my profile. For some reason Vodacom cannot, or does not care enough to remove this number from my profile. I was assured by Vodacom that my account was flagged and this cannot happen again.

Unfortunately, on 13 February 2024, again, I receive a SMS. A quote has been generated and approved for another number on my profile. Within 3 minutes I received many messages about a new approved contract and another number linked to my profile. The whole frustrating story again, trying to block this process over the phone and in person. The people I spoke to can only say sorry, and this has been escalated. For some reason it is very easy for someone to *****ulently open new contracts on my existing profile, but to cancel it is impossible, and no one at Vodacom can help. I have to spend hours on the phone, and on hold to get this sorted.

Today, 16 February 2024, a debit order went off on my bank account for this number that was *****ulently added to my account. I phone Vodacom and all they can say is that has been escalated and I have to wait until Monday. How is this acceptable to Vodacom? Why is the process to get something sorted, that is not my fault, and frankly being done by a ********, my problem?

I am so fed up with the poor service.
