Vodacom ***** Dispute

Two months ago, I discovered a suspicious debit order on my bank account which was linked to a Vodacom transaction. As I have no account or contract with Vodacom, I immediately reported it to my bank. However, they directed me to contact Vodacom to resolve the issue.

I visited a Vodacom store at Kolonade Shopping Centre to speak to a consultant and requested the cancellation of the *****ulent contract that had been opened in my name. Unfortunately, they were unable to assist me and only provided me with details of the contract. They instructed me to contact Vodacom's ***** line on ***, which was a non-existent number. I then attempted to contact Vodacom's customer care line but was unable to speak to the appropriate department or individual despite speaking to several consultants. The process was frustrating as I was repeatedly cut off and forced to go through the entire process again each time.

Eventually, I was able to speak to a consultant who provided me with the necessary instructions and advised me to send an email with an affidavit, which required me to go to the police station to obtain it. On March 2, 2023, I sent the email with all the required documentation and received an automated response with a reference number. However, I did not receive any response from Vodacom within the promised timeframe of 7 to 14 working days, despite sending follow-up emails after 14 and 20 working days.

I find it extremely frustrating that Vodacom does not seem to take this matter seriously, especially since this seems to be a common issue. I do not understand how it is possible for someone to open an account in my name without proper verification processes in place, and how they were able to pass a debit order without my knowledge. It is clear that Vodacom's security measures are inadequate.

As someone who is not a customer of Vodacom, I find their service delivery to be incredibly poor, and I cannot recommend them to anyone. This experience has left me with a negative impression of Vodacom's ability to provide adequate customer service and ensure the safety of their clients' personal information.

I am writing to express my extreme frustration and disappointment with regards to the recent developments in my ***** dispute case. I received an email indicating that the dispute had been resolved, however, this morning I was informed by my bank of yet another unauthorized transaction, this time for an amount of R3204.53, that has been debited from my account. This is an utterly unacceptable situation and I cannot comprehend how this could happen given that the dispute was supposedly resolved.

The fact that this matter has been ongoing for over a month now is already a significant inconvenience, but the added frustration of having to take time out of my busy work schedule to deal with this situation is unacceptable. I had hoped that the resolution of the dispute would have put an end to this matter, but unfortunately, this has not been the case.

As evidence of the unauthorized transaction, I have been instructed by a consultant, which i phoned again this morning 4 Apr 2023, that i need to send my affidavit along with a certified copy of my ID, 3 signatures and a screenshot of my bank statement that clearly shows the deducted amount. I trust that these documents will be sufficient to re-open the dispute and that the matter will be resolved without further delay. REF Nr EC-1LVO-1OZI5Z

I must insist that this matter be given the serious attention that it deserves and that prompt action is taken to ensure that this unauthorized transaction is rectified and that I am fully reimbursed for any losses incurred as a result of this *****ulent activity.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the ongoing unauthorized debits that continue to occur on my bank account from Vodacom. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this issue, I am appalled that it has not been resolved and that my account has once again been debited with a total amount of R100.88. This comes after I received an email from a Vodacom representative, Sibongile, on 18 April 2023, indicating that the dispute had been resolved.

This situation is completely unacceptable and has caused me significant financial losses and emotional distress. It is unacceptable that Vodacom has not taken appropriate measures to ensure that my bank account is protected from further unauthorized debits. I must insist that this matter be resolved immediately and that the *****ulent contract that was opened in my name is cancelled with immediate effect.

I demand proof that the *****ulent contract has been cancelled and that all fees paid by me have been reimbursed. I also demand that Vodacom takes full responsibility for the unauthorized debits that have occurred on my bank account and that appropriate compensation is provided.

Please note that if this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will have no other option but to take legal action against Vodacom. I trust that this matter will be treated with the utmost seriousness and urgency that it deserves, and that a prompt resolution will be reached.

I look forward to hearing from you urgently regarding the steps that Vodacom will be taking to resolve this matter.

Sincerely,
