Vodacom Dishonouring their Contract
Got given the run around when wanting to sign up for a Vodacom contract. Eventually signed for a contract a 24-month contract priced at R199, however, started getting debited over R300 per month and towards the end over R400, double what I signed for. The SIM cards were barely used and all items capped; was supposed to be billed a fixed amount as if used it could only be used up to the airtime credited by Vodacom, or if I topped up with my own prepaid airtime.
Contract ended on July 2022, however, not only did Vodacom continue to debit my account, they debited more than the authorised amount for months afterwards. I was instructed by Vodacom to call their cancellations team. Called; they took long to answer and when they eventually answered they kept trying to sell me knew contracts. After much persuasion, the consultant concurred and agreed to cancel, but the call conveniently got cut. No-one bothered to call back. I called in again only to be taken through the same rigmarole by another consultant who eventually also agreed to cancel the contract.
I thought I did not have to worry about it anymore, instead, got a call from their credit department stating I owe them for unpaid fees. Informed the lady that the contract has been cancelled she said she could not see a cancellation request on her side, the contract is still active.
