Vodacom dishonest agents and sales tactics

on 19/06/2024 I was contacted by a vodacom agent for a contract migration. The agent assured me I would be saving money by migrating and I made it clear, several times, that I could not afford to pay more per month. I was told, a number of times, thatI would be paying less. from 727 down to 630 on 082******* with 4gbs of data and 200 mins. This was a good deal and I accepted based in the fact that I would get better value. I took out a 55 rand 100 mins value add service the day before and the agent told me I could cancel that now. I contacted 1958 after terms and conditions were completed and spoke to Reginald to cancel the value add service. While I was on the phone with Reginald I asked him to double check and make sure I would actually save money since I had issue with vodacom before. He informed me that I would actually be paying 300 more per month. Now I made it quite clear that I cannot afford more and would not be interested even for more data and minutes. I asked to be transfered to Tersius, the manager, who logged a compliant and reversed the migration. How is it possible that vodacom agents can openly misrepresent the service, outright lie in order to sell a service. Promise I would pay less and yet I would be paying ALLOT more. I have picked this up before and it seems this practice is wide spread, without vodacom taking any disciplinary action. The customer is left holding the bad for this dishonest practice. HOW is this legal, HOW? I have been doing business with Vodacom since 1996 but I see this practice as a breach of contract. I cannot see myself continuing to do business with such a dishonest and ************ organisation.

I was promised by Tersius that action will be taken and the migration was cancelled, nothing was done. I subsequently spoke to another agent, prior to the 1st of July. I was again told she could not cancel the migration, which was again not true, as was later confirmed by another Vodacom agent. The migration was allowed to become active. I had to speak to another agent who helped me downgrade tp my previous package. If this will be successful, I will have to wait and see. Now, my number has been blocked and I cannot call 135 or 1958 anymore, so I cannot follow-up on progress of the investigation not can I confirm if my account issues have been sorted. Up to this point, 24/07/2024, I have not received any feedback from any supervisor. I spoke to 2 agents and requested a team lead/supervisor contact me after going trough a 2 rand per minute number I found. Again, no calls, not feedback. Absolutely NO communication from Vodacom.

I have been a Vodacom customer since 1996, but I am now cancelling every contract I can and will cancel all my contracts until I have no business left with Vodacom. Vodacom agents, especially cancellations and the rewards centre agents are dishonest and seems there are no consequences for their dishonest tactics and actions. Out of 7 agents I spoke to, only 1 person helped me!

And, just like I suspected....

Nothing has been resolved. my account is still not fixed. Vodacom's dishonesty continues. Agent after agent makes promise after false promise. I still cannot call customer service, my number is still blocked. I have never seen service as bad as this. It is actually becoming ridiculous and laughable.
