Vodacom disappoints again!

On Monday December 4th I called Vodacom to sign up for fibre, I spoke with Denise who got everything started and also captured my address incorrectly which caused a problem with Ram. By that same afternoon I received feedback that my request had been approved and I will be contacted for delivery of the router as well as a technician from Vumatel will be in contact for installation.

I received a call from Vumatel to make an appointment for Friday at midday, but by 2:30 they called to say that they won't be coming and asked for 7:30 on Saturday morning. By 6:51 Saturday morning, the Vumatel technician was here and installation was then done.

Since the completion of the installation at 7:30 on Saturday morning, I have not had a single second of internet. I called Vodacom and I was told that Vumatel needs to activate my line, failing to tell me that actually the previous tenant's fibre line with Vodacom is still active so mine cannot be activated, they'd put all the blame on Vumatel.

I have been in a back and forth with Vodacom since then and to date my query has not been resolved. All I keep getting is that it's been escalated. By Monday morning I had spoken with Ofentse, who by the way is extremely helpful and professional and stays true to her word of providing feedback. She said that my ticket that was created on Saturday was assigned to Thabang Hlope on Sunday, but Thabang clearly has no desire to do his job because I cannot believe, I refuse to believe that something that is supposedly done remotely and with so many escalations, takes this long to do. Or maybe Thabang is just upholding the Vodacom standard of not caring about its customers.

At 9:05 this morning, on one of my countless calls to Vodacom, I've spoken with Khanyelani who has also been just as helpful and professional, has escalated my query once again and has promised to provide me with an update as soon as he receives one. Now at 12:10 Khanyelani calls me back and advises that there is no feedback and he's still waiting. This is unacceptable!

I have reiterated to every Vodacom representative the importance of having WiFi in my home, as my work, how I earn a living, depends on it. I have been unable to work since installation was done, which means I don't get paid, which means my bills don't get paid. Is Vodacom going to cover my bills when they're due? This loss of income rests solely on Vodacom, but of course they will not take responsibility. They never do.

It would seem that Thabang or his department or Vodacom as a whole just refuses to service a client, but will still expect payment when it's due. Should I not have the WiFi I signed up for by 3PM today, I will be cancelling this service as it is obviously not doing what it is advertised to do and what I expect it to do, what I signed up for it to do. Vodacom has not held up their end of the deal so I cannot be held to mine. I unfortunately cannot even commission the services of another ISP because Vodacom is holding the line to this residence hostage. If they do not release this line, no other ISP can.

Since Saturday, I've spoken to multiple Vodacom consultants with them giving me the same runaround of there isn't an update to your escalation, but I will revert to you if and when there is, which they have but never relaying any useful or positive change. Most recent was Olivia in response to my Hello Peter, saying I'm going to check and get back to you.

I ask again, what is there to check and get back to me about if Vodacom has not and still not released the fiber line??? There are no available lines as the line to my unit is still in the previous occupants name. I'm not able to get fiber through Vodacom or any other service provider until Vodacom releases that line.
The message Vodacom has been relaying is that a ticket was lodged and escalated with Vumatel to activate my line, not saying that Vumatel is unable to activate the line until them, Vodacom releases that line. Perhaps Vodacom is expecting to keep the previous occupants paying whilst making me wait without fiber, knowing full well that I can't procure another service provider as only they, Vodacom can release the line.
With this ******* in mind, I would rather go back to the old LTE service system, certainly not with Vodacom of course, which is my only recourse. Not convenient but at least I will have internet connection which is ultimately what I desperately require.
No more placating calls, Vodacom, I'm sick and tired of your BS. Either connect me or come and fetch your useless hardware and cancel this deal.

It is absolute bull that I have been so grossly affected by both Vumatel's and Vodacom's incompetence! Kagisano last called me on Thursday last week and said that he has activated the line, I should give him 30 minutes. It's now Monday and I haven't heard back from Kagisano. I'm not even surprised anymore by Vodacom's don't-care attitude, you guys have no desire to deliver a service you claim to offer. Just the simple fact that you guys expect me to wait for a service I should've had almost 2 weeks ago and there is not a single update until I make noise about it is just appalling! Like I said, either activate the damn service or fetch your useless router!
