VODACOM DIRECT PORTING ****

I signed up for a new Vodacom Contract via Vodacom Direct. Phone and new SIM card was delivered - all good. Then I start calling Vodacom to enquire about porting my existing Vodacom pre-paid number. Well... that cannot happen. According to customer services, if you signup for a contract online, then you can't port your existing number. Now I sit with my cell number that I have had for many years and all my logins/banking etc are linked to this number, and I cant use it on my new contract. WHAT A JOKE. Customer services suggested I convert my pre-paid number to a contract bundle. ***! What was the point of getting a new phone contract then. What irks me the most is that at no time during the signup process did it ever state that I would NOT be able to port my existing number.

Thank you for responding, however, lets see if I will be contacted by a consultant! I was promised a call back from a supervisor yesterday... well... that never happened.

And to top it all off... the first payment for this contract was due on 8 Oct. This is what was stipulated on the invoice Vodacom sent after I had signed up for the contract. Surprise, surprise... this morning my account was debited!!! What are you doing VODACOM? You cant get the basics right!

I would like to provide an update to my previous review regarding my experience with Vodacom Direct.

After a week of navigating this issue, I was finally connected with Lennon, the Admin Manager. Our initial conversation did not go well, but I appreciate that Lennon did not take the criticism personally. Instead, he took it upon himself to thoroughly investigate the matter and worked diligently to resolve it on the same day.

I am truly grateful for Lennon's approach. He did not pass the buck or stick to a scripted response; rather, he thought outside the box to find a satisfactory resolution.
Thank you, Lennon — you are top class! Your commitment to customer service has made a significant difference in my experience with Vodacom.

Dear Customer, Thank you for the time and effort taken to voice your dissatisfaction to our office. It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any areas of improvement within our organisation. We are happy to hear that *** has now been ported to Vodacom. on contract.

Great service goes a long way in improving the customer experience and we will always strive to achieve this. We have sent this to the respective management for the necessary reward and recognition to Lennon. Regards
