Vodacom Direct disaster
In October 2018 I received an sms reminding me that i can do an upgrade but i didnt do it yet, when an agent from Vodacom Direct called me close to end October offering me a very promising contract over the phone to wich i then agreed. In the contract that he did over the phone, he said that from the new month i will be paying less than im currently paying. And everything else will stay the same. I received my new phone in the same week. On the 7th of november my debit didnt go off so i called vodacom customer care to ask why. They told me that there was not enough funds in my account for the debit to go off. I was very upset as he promised me that it would have been less from the new month allthough i had more in the account than what i said it will be. He never mentioned that im going to pay for 2 devices for the next 3 months as my original contract date was only on 8 December but i upgraded 3 months in advanced, he never mentioned all other costs to me like admin fees and insurance thats going to be more as the value of the phone was more. All those things were added without my knowledge. After days and weeks of fighting and investigation's i received a call again on the 20th November where we came to an agreement to cancell the whole contract again. I would have then gone to the vodacom shop like i have always done when upgrading in store. The agent from Vodacom direct said RAM will contact me in advance before they come to pick up the phone again. A few days or a day later I Received a call from RAM advising me that they will do the pick up the Next day. I waited and no one came. The next day i called RAM again and the lady told me to wait, they will still come as the request has been sent out for collection. A week later i called the same number again and the *********** lady whom i spoke to said that i need to call another number for my area. She couldnt give me any numbers as she couldnt get my address right and i had to give my address over and over and even after spelling it to her i realized that its going to be a lost case so i left it there. Both times i called RAM i redailed the numer of the person that said they will collect it that next day. December my debit order was back to normal but then again my January debit went off incorrectly again. I went to vodacom store. The lady whom tried to help me said that she cant do anything from her side as its Vodacom Direct that *****ed up. Billing and refunds can only be done as soon as the phone has been collected. I Still cant upgrade although its my second month in my upgrade period. I will not advise anyone to use Vodacom Direct and their sweet talk contracts.
