Vodacom destroying my funds
I think now that Vodacom is growing big they no longer care about their customers because to them one drop of a person is like a drop in the ocean. I obtained a contract with Vodacom which was expiring in February 2016. I called them on the 25/01/2016 to cancel the contract on expiry as I wanted my number to be migrated to prepaid. they agreed and I even received an sms from Vodacom confirming that. month end February I received airtime and the debit order went through my account like previous months which I didn't have a problem as I knew it was for the last time. Month end March same thing happened and that amazed me as I had cancelled the contract. I decided to call them on the 1st of April 2016 about this and the consultant told me that it does appear that I requested for the cancellation thou there was a network failure from Vodacom and the contract was never cancelled. he then said he will send a query about this and that I should be refunded, I should wait for 48 hours which is their turn around period and I will be called by someone from Vodacom about this. 48 hours went by and nobody called me then after a week I decided to make a follow up and the consultant I spoke to said I should wait for the phone call as there is a pending query, I explained to him that as much as I was told that the turn around period is 48hours I haven't received any call from Vodacom, he then said there is nothing he can do as there is a pending issue opened. I waited and another week went by no phone call from them I called them again and the lady I spoke to said their system was down so she couldn't help me. I called the following day and I had to explain from stretch the whole story, and the consultant told me the same story about not being able to assist because of the pending query. I told him that all I need is for the contract to be cancelled as I cannot afford it anymore and its been 3 weeks since I lodged the complaint and we are approaching month end April which I am afraid that they will debit my account thou I don't have money. the guy advise me that I should stop the debit order as he cannot do anything. I asked to speak to his supervisors of which he put me on hold for about 1hr 45mins and I decided to end the call. month end April I received airtime and the debit order didn't go through as I had put a stop on it. I called Vodacom on the 03rd of May 2016 and explained the situation the guy said he will speak to his supervisor and he came back and said the supervisor said he will make immediate cancellation and I would receive a call from him later on that day. the day went by no phone call and no contract cancellation. I called on the 04th of May about this issue and I explained the story to the lady and she said there was nothing about cancellation of the contract in the system all she can see was that old query. I requested to speak to the supervisor and a guy by the name of Itumeleng Tsetla in Midrand branch attended me as the supervisor, I explained to him and I told him that I no longer need any refund I want for this to be cancelled because the rates are very high when you are on contract and I cannot afford. he then said as soon as I put the phone down he will cancel the contract and I should switch my phone off the whole day in the morning everything would be sorted. I did that and nothing happened. on the 206/05/2016 I received a notification from Vodacom that my line would be cut as I need to pay the subscription for April. I decided to call again in the morning of the 06/05/2016 and the guy by the name of Zolile Ntanjane told me that Itumeleng is his supervisor he was in a meeting and I explained that the guy said he would cancel the contract immediately and that never happened. he then told me that I should remember that I am not the only Vodacom customer there are plenty of us he probably forget or he will do it when he finds time. I asked him for the cancellation of the contract because I was so annoyed of his attitude he then said it will be cancelled today I should switch off my phone the whole day and in the morning it would be done. I told him that I need the phone because I switched it off on the 04th of May and nothing happened, he then said he is putting it on his shoulders. I told him that I received a call from Vodacom that my line will be cut if I don't pay he then said he will inform them not to do that. my phone is off and I am missing important things I am so frustrated and tired of playing games with Vodacom, I have been their customer for many years and they are treating my like dirt. I understand very well that even if I can leave them it wont matter to them and they don't care but I need my number besides the fact that they don't need me. I have had it with them telling me that there is nothing they can do while all I need is for the contract to be cancelled as when they sell their products they are so nice but when coming to fulfilling their obligation they become monsters. they suck.......... never really wanted to use that word but they are prepared to torture someone who is not even earning income because they can
