Vodacom deletes your number if you cancel your contract

I wish i could give a 0 and this is all because of one consultant named FEROZ. I called in on the 19th of April to cancel my contract and revert to prepaid.. This guy kept me on the call for over 30mins trying to keep me on as a contract customer.. I didnt want to be rude and listened to him even though there was no way i was staying on contract. i gave one months notice and my contract was to end in May.. Come 25th of April and i can no longer make or receive calls. Looks like this guy went and deleetd my number. Vodacom now says theres nothing they can do and i must get a new number!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME. ive had that number for 20years and because someone is annoyed i didnt take up their offer i must get a new number.. This is not cool. What are recordings for if they do not listen to it and hold the person accountable and give me back my number instead of every person telling me theres nothing they can do...

A big big TAHNK YOU to Tracy from social Media who assisted me in getting this sorted out.

My number has been given back to me despite the call centre agents stating that this is not possible and i will need a new number.
