Vodacom deceiving clients
We app**** for a deal through Vodacom Business online. A consultant came back to us via email with forms to fill and a list of documents to provide. We completed and submitted the forms. A day or so later she contacted us to inform us the contract has been approved and delivery will be the next week Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday she contacted us that the phone, a Huawei P30 Pro, is out of stock and they will have to wait for supplies before they can deliver. Weeks went by that we waited and didn't hear a thing from her. Eventually my business partner contacted Vodacom Online asking if they have received stock yet of the Huawei P30 Pro. Yes, the consultant said, They have received a 1000. We contacted the lady that helped us again and she informed us that they have received stock but the Huawei P30 Pro They received are not available for the contract that we app**** for. Again we had to email and ask for which contract it is available for, she emailed back a contract that was both more expensive and had less data. Overall a much less attractive package. We considered this for a moment, confused why the same phone is no longer available on a contract that is was available on before. Over the weekend we noticed on our bank emails that a charge has gone of from Vodacom for just over the amount we app**** for at first. Up until the application of this contract our business has not had any contracts with Vodacom and therefor there shouldn't be any charges from our accounts, if it was for this contract it would have been fine, however considering we haven't yet received the device not any kind of services that comes with the contract, the charge was rediculous.
This morning we contacted her again, informed her of the charge and showed her the banking proof that it happened. She claimed it was a mistake. Upon further conversation on phone I wanted her to explain to me why the Huawei P30 Pro that is available now is not available for the contract we app****, have been approved for and have already payed for any more, even though it is the same exact phone. She came up with a weak excuse that the new stock is 2020 models and the contract we app**** for was 2019 models. This didn't make sense to me at all, I pointed out to her that Nowhere, not even in fine print, was there any mention of the year model the contract app**** to. The only thing that was advertised was the name of the phone. The Huawei P30 Pro. They do not advertise the Huawei P30 Pro 2019 model. It only states the Huawei P30 Pro. Yet now they do not want to give me the phone we bought through contract, had already payed an installment for, on the basis that they claim the contract we took was for a 2019 model, again this isn't stated anywhere, and the phones they have are a 2020 model, again this isn't stated anywhere. I find the whole service highly ********* and incredibly painful.
I am still waiting for the refund from Vodacom for the money they deducted from our accounts for a phone and service they refuse to give me on the basis of an excuse that is invalid. What a terrible experience, I feel reluctant and nauseated by the idea to do business with Vodacom again.
