My aunt, Mrs G Bhikam, a pensioner had a two year contract with Vodacom. She had received numerous calls from sales agents at Vodacom reminding her of her contract which was going to expire. As she did not want to renew her contract, as she is unable to afford a new contract she declined it. On the 29th April 2020 she called Vodacom to ensure the contract was cancelled as she id not want it renewed. Unfortunately for an old woman like herself, she had the most unhelpful and rude agent on the other side of the phone. Without any empathy she was eager to cancel my aunts contract immediately. My aunt was not allowed to ask her any questions, the agent kept insisting that my aunt was not listening to her etc... and there was no supervisor to talk to. The contract was definitely cancelled however she was debited with R 328.98 on the 5th May 2020 for something my aunt does not have. Again on the 1st June 2020 my aunts account was debited with R429.86 yet again for something she does not have. My aunt has called Vodacom a number of times to query and check but has not received any help form them. She is quiet upset as she is unable to go to Vodacom due to lockdown and all she can do is call them but she seems to be wasting her precious resources of something clearly that's not her fault.
