VODACOM DEAL REQUEST EMAIL ***** OR STUPIDITY?

Last night we received six emails from [Email Removed] addressed to our Business Name. Stating that they have received a deal request with a reference number. We have two deal request reference numbers. They say a call centre gent will contact us if successfully processed, the number they state to call is Vodacom's sales number ***4.
When I called Vodacom this morning, they checked our Business account and found no upgrades or deal requests. I am still concerned because it could be ***** and they don't exactly put your mind at rest. Especially after watching the Carte Blanche sim swap story.
When I ask them to look up the DEAL REQUEST Reference number that I have on the emails, they tell me they can't look up deal request numbers!!! Why the heck do you have a reference number if you can't look it up!
VODACOM you really need to make us feel that our cell phones are secure and you are not doing that right now! I don't want to be told by a call centre agent to just ignore an email!!!! I want to know why it was sent in the first place. There must be a logical explanation or it's a ***** attempt???
