Whilst holidaying in Namibia and Botswana in July 2016 we sent some holiday pics via the Whatsapp portal to family and friends. Imagine our horror and disgust when we were debited R4 400 for data usage upon our return, which had accrued over less than 10 days! Whilst lodging a complaint with Vodacom in terms of their complaints procedure, the complaint bounced back to our server on more than 2 occasions. We then addressed a letter to the CEO and head office. We were advised to resubmit the complaint on a letter head. After some 4 weeks and only after three urgent reminders that we were awaiting a response, did we threaten to voice our complaint on hellopeter. We promptly received a curt response saying we were to blame as we had not arranged beforehand for special data? My question is, who is the service provider and what role do they assume in protecting their clients from this ludicrous *******? We have several contracts with Vodacom and have been loyal clients since the inception of cellular phones? Their shoddy service and lack of empathy leaves a lot to be desired!
