My husband and I both have data 2GB data cards with Vodacom which we pay R109.00 each per month.

My huband has had a problem with his data card as he kept on receiving calls and smsses on his data card from debt collectors for someone else. He went to vodacom in Capegate who referred him to Canal Walk. When we got to Canal Walk we were told that a call needs to be logged and that someone will call him regarding the problem. A gentleman eventually calls him and to my husbands surprise this person could not assist him and he then asked to speak to a supervisor or manager who in turn told him that a number change can be done without any charge to him. On the 28th of April we went to the Vodacom store Capegate to pay the data account, just to find out that we were being charged for the number change as well as an upgrade from the 2GB to 3GB without my husbands knowledge and permission. We have been on the telephone several times with Vodacom as well as in and out of the Canal Walk Vodacom store and no joy. I have received an sms from them stating (Dear customer, kindly be advised that as a gesture of goodwill we have credited your account with R150.00 for number change. Please note that migration was not charged. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.) Yesterday I received an email stating that I owe them R161.54 and my cards was suspended. When I called to investigate all this, nobody could explain to me why this amount was outstanding, why my husbands data card was upgraded from a 2GB to 3 GB and why my account has been suspended when the amount for the data cards has been paid. I have been on the telephone with at least 5 consultants this morning alone and I was shoved from pillar to post. The last consultant actually laughed at me as if I was cracking some kind of joke, but eventually tried to sort my query. She assured me that the ongoing emails and smsses will not be sent again. The only gentleman who really tried his best to assist is Zuko who works at the Vodacom store Canal Walk. Thank you to him, I sincerely wish that all assistants would be of good service as this young man.
