I think vodacom's data practices needs to be examined. I bought data for 7days. A day or so later I received a special offer for a 30 day bundle, that I bought. Vodacom started using the data on the 30 day package first, that resulted in the 7day package data just expiring, with the lost of 800mb. When I inquired about this, I was told that they have no way of knowing which package was used first, and that I should have called while both packages was still active. After a long discussion, I was rewarded with 2G, with 290mb prorata that was due to expire within a few days. Guess what, once again, the data that was expiring first, was not used first. During another call to the call centre, I was told that they use data first in first out (the total opposite of my original complaint).Fortunately the data on the 30day package ran out, so I could get to 290mb. Subsequently I bought another 30day package. Atm I am being bombarded with messages that I should buy data, as my data will expire soon. This being the first 30day package with data long gone, but with the 2nd package still having data. If I did not activate the vodacom app, to check balances, I would have felt I had to buy data, as I had done before. Bottom line, be aware that vodacom has no system in place that insures that data that is expiring first will be used first. It's wrongly your responsibility. Only way of checking is by installing the app and calling customer care if you pick up that you are being ****** of data=money. Always check data balance before being pressured into buying more data.
