Vodacom - Data Contract - I am not paying for a data forfeit!

Dear Vodacom,

It is absolutely not acceptable that your customer care consultants do not accurately and efficiently tell customers what will happen if they cancel their data contracts with your organisation!

I phoned in to cancel my long standing month-to-month data contract today (27 August 2018) and was told that all is well and my last debit order would come off on the 01 September for the data received in August 2018. Contract cancelled successfully – all so I thought! I logged onto MyVodacom and saw that I have a couple of gigs remaining and that I could potentially use those on my prepaid account. So I proceeded to procure a virtual consultant to assist me. That virtual consultant (Aviwe) then proceeded to the best of his ability to assist me, only to notify me that I could not transfer the remaining data to my other prepaid number, as it is apparently “locked” to that number. Getting a little frustrated I called back into your customer care department and managed to get transfer to a lovely supervisor (Olga Dorasamy). She then proceeded to give me all the information that the first consultant did not! And lo and behold I was then informed that: A) I could not transfer the remaining data to another contact number (Vodacom or other) B) That I would forfeit any data remaining on that data number regardless of having paid for it C) And to top it off that I would still have the 01 September data instalment deducted from my account (pay for it)

Just so that we are clear - not once during the initial cancellation call was I informed that I would forfeit the remaining data, that I would still pay for it on 01 September or that I could not transfer that data if I could not use it!

I then politely asked to escalate this matter to the solutions department after Olga suggested that I could discuss one of three resolutions with them: 1) A reimbur*****t of the amount once deducted from my account on the 01 September 2) Equal data on my prepaid number (so as not to “lose” that data) 3) Or equal airtime on my prepaid number (to the value of that data “lost”)

I presented these options to a lovely lady (Beatrice) in your solutions department and after many discussions with her supervisor, I was then told that A, B and C would still apply and that there is nothing I can do about it. Vodacom and its supervisors clearly do not give a sherbet about the lack of information presented by your organisation and its consultants and I am sorry this is absolutely not acceptable. I am damn well not prepared to have the last months instalment deducted from my account on 01 September and still forfeit that data because you guys cannot transfer that data to another number OR assist with an alternate solution.

Someone senior really needs to contact me back regarding this matter because I am not paying for something and not receiving it!

Thank you very much to the absolutely wonderful consultant who contacted me regarding this matter (apologies I do not recall her name). She was every bit professional and happy to assist me with a resolution. Also, a huge thank you to Beatrice in your solutions department for contacting me every day for feedback and a check in to see that this has been resolved. She has been absolutely phenomenal! Consistent and knowledgeable feedback is the kind of customer service Vodacom and other network providers need to be giving their customers. Thank you again.
