Vodacom customers are left without the services they are paying for
I reported a problem with my Vodacom fiber service a week ago and, despite my efforts to seek updates, the call center informed me that it is an area outage with no estimated time for resolution.
What adds to my frustration is the fact that I had to resort to purchasing expensive mobile data to continue my work during this outage. As a loyal customer, I expect a certain level of service, and the inconvenience caused by this situation has been both disruptive and costly.
I find it disheartening that Vodacom does not have any compensation measures in place for situations like these. It seems unjust that I would be required to pay the full amount for the fiber service at the end of the month despite not having access to it for a significant period. This lack of accountability contrasts sharply with the practices of other service providers, such as Telkom, which used to charge proportionally for ADSL downtime.
Even basic services like electricity from Eskom are not charged when they fail to provide the service. The absence of any reimbur*****t policy from Vodacom gives the impression that the company is taking our money without fulfilling its end of the agreement, which feels akin to a form of theft.
