Vodacom Customer Sevice is BEYOND unacceptable!!

My father passed away a few months ago and it's been a never ending battle to try and transfer his cell phone contract and debit order details into my mother's name.

I first called the Vodacom call center to find out what options we have. I was told that we need to go into a Vodacom shop with the death certificate, his ID book, my mom's ID book, her 3 months bank statements, her pay slips, proof of residence etc. After sourcing all the documents we headed off to the Vodacom store on Saturday. After waiting in a queue for about half an hour we were finally called to the desk. We explain our situation to the assistant who then dials the call center. He gets transferred from one person to another and another and another until he eventually hands me the phone. After telling the story for the umpteenth time I'm eventually told that no one can help us as the accounts department and legal department is closed. We were told to come back during the week. Today (Tuesday) we travel back to the store where the same (very helpful) assistant try's to help us again. He again calls the call center and gets passed around and around until the phone is eventually given back to us. Again, we explain the story and the lady tells us she can only speak to the account holder. After reinforcing that he passed away, she then tells us that my dads contracts will be suspended. AGAIN we ask what the balance is on the contract so we can buy it out and convert to prepaid she tells us she'll have to transfer us to accounts department. Acc dept. listen to the whole story who then pass us onto the legal department who pass us back to accounts and back to legal and back to accounts. We've now been bounced around for over half an hour. The assistant can't help us further as he needs info from the call center and every person at the call center transfers us around. I think I had the "privilege" of speaking to every employee of Vodacom! And guess what... we left the store and we're still no further. My fathers cheque account is closed and the Vodacom debit order will simply bounce this month, which will followed by the numbers being blocked with will result in our entire estate not being able to enter or exit and the gate operates off of one of these numbers. It's actually beyond unacceptable and pathetic. We are the point where we are going to just leave the accounts to get blocked and Vodacom will have to lose out on the balance of his contracts as well as 4 others as my family is promptly going to follow suit and migrate to Cell C (who by the way, helped us and sorted everything in 10 minutes flat about the EXACT SAME SITUATION)! Vodacom, you should change your name to Vodago!!
