Vodacom Customer Service Unknown

The only possible explanation for events which have occurred, subsequent to Vodacom having upgraded one of my lines contrary to instructions, is that Vodacom customer service staff are trained to ignore any and all complaints in the hopes that they'll go away. As a corollary it would appear that business ethics are not highly (if at all) valued as these together with customer service appear to be concepts which are totally unknown within Vodacom.

On the 1 March 2018, after fruitlessly spending hours on Vodacom so-called customer service lines, I wrote a review on hellopeter.com regarding the frustration I had experienced in endeavouring to cancel and upgrade which was specifically requested not to take place.

In the above-mentioned review I explained that I had been phoned by Salvador suggesting that I upgrade one of my cell phone contracts ending in 293 he was specifically requested not to upgrade another cell phone line ending in 653. Both of these lines were however upgraded. After trying to resolve the issue through Vodacom's customer service lines I finally resorted to a review on hellopeter and got the usual canned response stating that I would be contacted by a consultant in due course.

The end result of course is that I haven't been contacted, however on 5 March my daughter who uses the 293 line received an SMS beginning "Dear Valued Customer, welcome to Smart Top up S+"… And I subsequently received my invoices showing that this line had been upgraded, and an upgrade fee had been charged.

As previously requested on numerous occasions I DO NOT WANT THIS LINE UPGRADED!! Let me repeat that:-I DO NOT WANT THIS LINE UPGRADED!! I want the upgrade reversed together with all charges relating to said upgrade in fact quite frankly I want the contract cancelled and the line converted to a prepaid line prior to my deciding which other cell phone provider I will use in future.

I am so disgusted with this particular lack of customer service from Vodacom that as my 6 contracts expire I will not be renewing them but will convert to other cell phone providers.

With relation to Vodacom's "Valued Customer" SMS in my experience the only value Vodacom attaches to customers is to which extent they can gouge them.

Should one of Vodacom's consultants wish to get hold of me to discuss this I will request that they actually speak to my husband on *** *** *775 as I will be unavailable for the foreseeable future.

Should this matter not be resolved to my complete satisfaction I will be laying complaints at the office of the National Consumer Commission and ICASA
