Vodacom Customer Service Failure

I have been a loyal Vodacom client for more than 10 years and have done numerous upgrades on the system. With my last upgrade I asked for a U-Choose Smart M package deal that was currently available at Vodacom outlets which was R749.00 a month. This was done in July 2016. It was an early upgrade and therefor my account only changed at the end of August. To my horror I found that I was placed on a RED VIP package that costs R2000.00 a month and was not the package I asked for. Upon discovering this I called Vodacom Customer Services and was told they can not help me as they did not do the upgrade.

Subsequently I was billed R4994.00 for this account after I had already brought this to Vodacoms attention and had received a Reference Number for the Complaint lodged . This amount was returned as my usual payment is only R 2700.00 a month and I can not afford the debit order of R 4994.00 .

I have been in contact with Vodacom and have been to the outlet where the upgrade was done on a regular basis and have been told that the issue will be dealt with. Vodacom has cut my lines and my account is showing in arrears with R12000.00 or even more now, which is now reflecting negatively on my credit record and is causing immense problems for me. This will reflect badly on my record for at least a year and has already cause me to be declined for an additional line with Vodacom.

I use my phone for work purposes and can now not contact clients or send emails or messages as VODACOM refuses to resolved this issue. I have been promised a Credit on my account and also have been told for the past three weeks that my lines will be unblocked which still has not come to light.

There is no progress on changing my contract to the actually package I requested nor has any effort been made to rectify and of Vodacom's incompetence.

Should this complaint have no effect I will have no alternative but to find other avenues of making this kind of customer service failure known to other consumers. For instance Facebook, twitter, instagram and any other social forums.
