Vodacom Customer Service - 7 Months Overdue

My contract expired almost a year ago possibly in 2015/2014 and I was glad to keep my current phone and not upgrade, as it was in good condition and had not given me any concerns. However I unfortunately drop my phone accidently and it was less costly to upgrade that replace the screen.

I went into the Vodacom Key West store and was a bit 2 minded about which phone to get. I mentioned to the salesperson that everyone is suggesting an iPhone, however I know nothing about the product. He said that an iPhone is fine. So I said that an iPhone is okay. When I went to pick up the phone the salesperson handed it to me and after signing the papers I asked his if that is it, meaning I just take the phone in the box home and he said yes that is it.

Upon switching the phone on in the evening I was prompted to update/register for a number of things. I wasn’t entirely certain and contacted my brother as maybe it was simple and I didn’t need to contact the customer care. He suggested that I rather contact the store in the morning as it will not be possible for me to just switch over to an iPhone. He also advised that I was not going to be able to share many things with other phones other than an iPhone and a number of other restrictions. This was extremely disappointing as the salesperson did not firstly explain this, neither did they assist me at all to get up and running and the transition between phones at all. I was extremely disappointed and a bit upset that I wasn’t aware of a number of things.

I called the salesperson immediately and told him that I was not happy and consumers have a 7 day return period and I would like to return the phone.

I did so and the salesperson first said that I wasn’t allowed to return it even though it was within the consumer act, saying that each store works differently. I managed to explain that he did not give me all the details and I was not prepared to have and pay for a phone that is not optimal for me.

The phone was returned.

The salesperson mentioned that I am not allowed to go to any other Vodacom store as since I returned my to their store. So I requested the phone I wanted and seven months later I still do not have a phone. The store manage is not understanding the situation and now saying that I am out of the cancellation period.

All I require to conclude all dealing with is store and 3 simple things that head office has requested me to get and they will not assist me with. Someone please help.

1. Proof of cancelation of iPhone contract

2. Reverse Upgrade Date

3. Refund on billing of iPhone (Since May 2016)
