VODACOM CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have had the displeasure of dealing with Vodacom when trying to get a refund. on advise of their own call center i had to deposit money into their account to bring my account up to date which i did, they then proceeded to double debit my account as well and that is where the circus began.

I contacted the call ceter 4 times to be told all different stories about what needs to be done, i was told that the deposit has to reflect first before they can complete a refund and it takes 3 days and then it would take a further 7-14 days to get the refund. i phoned on the 16th of November to enquire and the consultant said they can see the refund on the system and it takes 7-14 days do process at which point i asked that since i deposited the money end of october already that would mean that payment would then be due on the 18th of November 2016 to which she rep**** 'YES'. It is no the 22nd of November and i call in and get told sorry sir but now we need your proof of payment (although we can see that you have made a deposit into the account) which i mail and request that a supervisor call me back which did not happen so i call back, spoke to TWO agents who all of a suddenly can see nothing on the system eventually put me through to a supervisor who now said that they will process the refund but will take 7-14 days (the call center agent that i spoke to in the morning guarenteed that request will be delt with sooner as i have been running with this query since the end of October 2016 already so payment is usually affected sooner). The supervisor said basically there is nothing she can do, simple as that.

I eventually got frustrated (which is thier aim) with the matter and left the money in the account, as i knew that this matter would drag on indefinatley and rather than continually deal with that level of incopetence i decided to name and shame them and i hope that this serves as a warning to other Vodacom customers when dealing with Vodacom. Please be aware of there poor customer service.

The E-mail below is what i sent to Vodacom:

Please see attached bank statement for proof of payment. Vodacom double debited my account with R1214.98c to bring it up to date at that same time I paid an arrears amount of R657.49c (as advised by a Vodacom call center agent) which was paid on the 26th of October 2016.the amount of R657.49c is now to be refunded.

I have phoned numerous times to the call center on the 27th of October 2016 again on the 16th of November 2016 and today the 22nd of November 2016 and each time I phoned there is a different explanation as what needs to be done, I was told this morning only that I need to send proof of payment in order to affect a refund which will now take a further 7-14 working days, this is highly unacceptable after being told last week that the refund is showing on the system and that a payment will should by Friday (18th November 2016). Please affect payment with immediate effect as I have waited long enough for what is mine.

Awaiting your response
