Vodacom Customer Care : a VERY LOUD joke.

This evening, around 22:05 CAT I attempted a call to the 111 Customer Care line on VodaCom South Africa. My call went through, but was cut off shortly after being connected. In Vodacom's defense: they called me back immediately, which in my experience as a Vodacom Contract customer for many many years, is completely unheard of.

Next I tried to lodge a query regarding the fact that I can suddenly no longer see the name or number of any of the incoming calls to my cellphone, which has never before been the case.

My son who initiated the phonecall with the assistant at Vodacom named "Thebang" had to urgently ask the attendant to please ask the rest of the ladies/men at the call center to keep it down, because "he (the customer) could hardly hear himself think".

Next the phone was handed of to the father, who is the mail account holder. Again he had to beg the call center assistant to ask his collegues to keep down the jovial (and rather drunken sounding) laughter, because it made a normal conversation to the call center attendant impossible. Questions from the call center had to be repeated over and over, as well as answers to these questions.

There was no resolve to this issue - only a very moody and upset customer. And to top everything, the call was dropped - AGAIN during Vodacom's "Hold on while we play you some fantastic music - moments".

Vodacom, do you think you are rendering service that is above par, or do you also see the enormous room for improvement?
