Vodacom / C.S.I. Celebration *******
In November 2018 we purchased an apartment in Celebration Retirement Estate. In the contract we had no choice of internet connection, we had to use Vodacom. After a few months of living with a shocking internet speed I made contact with a representative of Vodacom who was on the estate. I asked for an increase of speed from our connection, The representative could not complete the document as she had to leave. We continued to live with the bad internet, with many call outs for the speed to be fixed with no success! We have been left with an old blue cable of about 10 meters long plugged into the modem and a booster on the other side of the room, the cable which was then placed under the Persian carpet. At about the same time that the damaged cable was laid under our carpet , our internet connection was increased from R 231 .00 to R 640.00 I have tried to communicate with Vodacom a number of times about this to no avail. They claimed to have a contract with us.. The first time my husband and I saw that contract was after we objected to the increase in the levy. We never received a copy of this document until I asked for one from Celebration office, only to discover that 'uncapped' was circled. There were a number of mistakes made and changed on the document without initialling, Although the signature on the document is a copy of my signature, and the name listed as the account holder was my husbands. None of this was previously seen by either of us, nor was anything written by either of us. As the bill is charged to our Celebration account I attempted to speak to the Manager of Celebration to see if he could assist me in sorting out the problem. He rudely responded that it had nothing to do with him and showed me the door. As we have not being paying the excess charged but the usual amount of R231.00 we were previously being charged, interest on the outstanding amount from Celebration has been added on. I would like to send you a copy of the contract but have not been successful in doing so. The document was filled in by some unknown person, has a number of corrected mistakes that have not been initialed by anyone. A copy of my signature and my husbands name as the account holder. What a surprise to us! as pensioners in our mid 70s we just cannot afford to pay out in excess of R5000.00 for something we didn't want or need, please help us as both Vodacom and CSI Celebration Retirement Estates are just not interested in our problem. Yours sincerely Dorothy (Dot) Murray
