VODACOM: ****** OR ***********
****** or ***********: The former appears to be the description of Vodacom service when it comes to cancellation of contracts. I am trying to cancel contracts with vodacom since last year. At first I was advised, in store, that I should return in December 2019 to cancel a contract. I did so, and I was advised that cancellations should be done by phone. Since then, Dec 2019, I am trying to cancel. Every call is dropped in the middle or 1-2 minutes of talking, but before anything substantial can happen. This happens after 20-30 minutes on hold. I went back to the stores on numerous occasions and on each occasion I was told that cancellations can only be done on the phone. All attempted calls were, as usual, dropped before cancellation could be effected. Yesterday I went in store at Menlyn Mall and on being advised that I should cancel by phone I requested assistance. The person who sought to attend upon me asked for my phone, she called vodacom and I spoke to a person who agreed to assist me. This person, on being advised that I wished to cancel a contract accepted the contract numbers but advised me that since I had called previously he had to talk to the person who sought to assist me on the previous occasion, he knew who that person was and as soon as he spoke to that person he would call me back, as the cancellation was apparently "pending". Needless to say, he has still not called me. I am paying for contracts which I do not want or need. PLEASE ASSIST ME IF YOU ARE ABLE TO. IS THERE ANY PLACE OR INSTITUTION IN OUR COUNTRY TO REPORT THESE ******, WITH A VIEW TO A REMEDY TO THIS COMMON PROBLEM? THE DROPPING OF CALLS AND OTHER DELAYING TACTICS IS CLEARLY DELIBERATE. (NB: i have to give these delinquents a one star rating or else I could not proceed. One star is one too much)
