Vodacom- ********* instead of Service provider.
I called Vodacom on the 20th of June to cancel contract *** and also ***. the *** contract was cancelled. Instead of cancelling the *** contract, they offered me a contract for pensioners of 15 gigs for R75 per month. What they omitted to mention was that it was only 5 gig anytime data and 10 gig nighttime data. When I realised this, I called them and rejected the offer, and the same offer on the *** as well. So I decided to to cancel the *** contract all together, because Iexplained that I could not afford it any longer. I said that I would continue the *** contract that finished at the end of July on a month to month basis. I spoke to 3 people on the 29th and 30th of June, and I was told that I would receive an email the next day with the cancellation reference. I did not receive the promised email. When I went to the local Vodacom outlet, I was told that the two contracts were upgraded for the next 24 months.
I then asked my daughter, Rene Conning, to call them on my behalf, because I am 82 years old and I was tired of fighting with them. She spoke to them twice on the 4th of July. The first time when she asked them to sort out the problem, they put the phone down in her ear. She then called back and she was promised that they would look into the matter, and cancel the *** contract . And the *** would revert back to a month to month contract. She was promised that this would happen within 72 hours. But none of this was done.
I went back to Vodacom this morning, only to find out that the *** contract was upgraded to R206 for 20 gigs for the next 24 months. And the *** contract was upgraded to R70 per month for the next 24 months. I spoke to Amanda Mhlongo and she promised that this problem would be escalated and that They will let me know within 72 hours again.
My fisrt conversation took place on the 20th of June and I was promised that everything would be sorted out. And after that I spoke to them again on the 29th and 30th of June, with no joy. My daughter spoke to them on the 4th of July and again promises were made that were not kept.
It is now the 25th of July, more than a month after i first spoke to them, but instead of sorting out my problems, they escalated them by upgrading my contracts without my consent. This is totally unacceptable. Vodacom are behaving like *********, *****ing from their clients.
I would like this problem to be sorted out before the end of July. Vodacom should go and listen to all the calls to verify the conversations.
