Vodacom Cresta

My Sister went to go buy for me ear phones at one of your stores in Cresta mall as I thought I had lost mine on a flight coming back to Joburg. When the airline contacted me to say they have find my AirPods I had to return the ones bought in the original box and not opened. I was told they can’t assist me basically I made a choice and I must live with it. I would like to know what are my consumer rights regarding to this.

The attitude I got when I asked why they couldn’t take them back was very disappointing. What do I do regarding to this???
