Vodacom credit record fault

I recently app**** for vehicle and asset finance but this was declined. I was later informed that the reason it was declined, was because I was allegedly in arrears with my Vodacom account in the amount of R2 and I was listed at the credit bureau for this. I was surprised because I was unaware that I even had a Vodacom account. I've had the same number for, which feels like the last 14 years (from high school). I never received any notifications regarding my alleged arrears account. After becoming aware of this I had to go the the Vodacom shop as the person who was supposed to call me back never did. After having to speak to someone on the phone at the shop I was first informed that the amount was in the process of being written off. Then that I do not owe any money (so what is being written of and why was I listed at the credit bureau). They cannot give me any written proof of the information given over the phone, and they cannot send me a clearance letter. They can send me a letter stating that my account is paid up, but that of course has to take at least 2 working days (just to send an email). Apparently the ITC record will be cleared but this of course will take at least 21 working days. I am absolutely furious! This makes no sense at all. Furthermore, I requested a manager to give me a call as the person I talked to on the phone clearly had no authorization to do or even tell me anything, still waiting for the call, probably not happening either. I've most likely lost the opportunity to purchase that vehicle and the amount of hoops and stress I had to go through for something like this is absurd with absolutely no fault of my own. Vodacom is the worst.

Good day,

I appreciate the effort, thank you. I have received correspondence and have rep**** with a request for some information twice. It seems that my request to be furnished with all information pertaining to that account, whe it became arrears, when you informed me of that arrears, what steps were taken before listing me at the credit bureau and when I was actually listed is being ignored. Kindly provide me with all the information of that account.

Regards.
