Vodacom couriers "RAM" disappointing service

I ordered a new sim only data package online. I received confirmation per email from Vodacom to expect RAM couriers and have a copy of my "ID book, Smart ID card or valid passport", then I received an email from RAM couriers stating my package was 'Out for deliver' and to "Please have the following documents ready: ID Document". When the RAM courier arrived we presented my ID and the passenger, named Shaba, stated he needed proof of residence too. I explained that I don't receive my Municipal account and the last account I received, for March 2019, was handed to him but he said is was not out dated. I then told him I don't have a newer account. This turned into an unpleasant discussion that I need to produce a bank statement then. I told him that nowhere on both emails it mentioned to have proof of residence ready and only said to have my ID ready, which I did have. After all he was standing at my front gate of my residence which I told him and he said he cannot accept my house / gate as proof of residence. After I realized he was not going to budge wrt proof of residence I told him to cancel the delivery and I then phoned Vodacom to cancel the order. RAM couriers call me and I explained what happened and that was that.

Why don't Vodacom and RAM not state they need proof of residence, if they do indeed that, in their emails so that I as a client can make sure I have the necessary documents before they arrive?
